. A Flots perdus

A Flots perdus : Florence Rizzo and Alain Rangon are a couple from Arles, who are transformation artists...
Floating wood and grinded glass, born after falling, confronted with natural elements and having fragmented and been separated from their weakest parts - thus losing their identity as a trees or bottles - are back as their native material: Wood and glass.

There is a total osmosis between the two, combining these materials with their primitive forms by changing their volumes without altering neither the essence nor the balance. Brought to the light, animated in other ways, they are reborn, metamorphosed in to works of art, given the status of being objects. Labelled as bewitching mirrors, delicate vases, haughty candlesticks, swing-wing clocks, sober tables, ornate patera... These lasting souvenirs from trees and bottles gain a new function and are rehabilitated in to the intimacy and daily life of each one of us.
"Humanity is like floating wood, it only has a sense of purpose when it's been taken in and given a body"
