Jean-Louis Fayolle

"Turning and sculpting have left us with an incredibly rich past that we, as today's wood artists, have inherited and most importantly must pass on. However, my passion is the quest for my own path, leaving the "standards" behind, daring to produce creations to fit our era. By combining techniques, materials, exchanging and confronting people, knowledge and projects we can create something that will be part of a hopeful modernity.” >Jean-Louis FAYOLLE prefers local wood, particularly if it has been damaged and fails to meet the norm: wear, injury, burr, swirl, dote, pollard, root, etc. More than the rest, these pieces have a story to tell.
