Glass is a boundless source of inspiration to Nathalie Rochard because of the way in which it changes constantly with light, inspiring the artist to play with transparency.

She creates columns, totems and faces trying, from what is solid and what is hollow, to link the interior with the exterior.
She carves, enamels, paints and engraves the glass panes that she superimposes.

The sheets of glass, one on top of the other, give substance, subtlety, depth.
As for colour, there are different shades and tints with different types of intensity which are added or applied to the middle of the sculpture.
Like ice, this cold element then becomes warm.

Each layer is a feast for the eyes. The end result is simply... magic!
