Porcelain

Painting, repairing, creating images have always been a necessity for Véronique Quantin.
She is self-taught.

Her universe has already expanded over the last few years, using all of the supports met along the way - canvas, collage, clay....and porcelain.
This is the medium that dominates since she settled in Limoges in 2002.

In her workshop, she never ceases to explore the territories that this surface offers.
Here, everything is reunited - the floating aspect of watercolours, the precise and masterly lines of the nib, the magic transition of fire... and even the skill of writing.

Her work is fuelled by childhood stories, by the wonders of legends, of poetry, from Rimbaud to René Char or Edmond Jabès, of the specific musicality of Japanese haiku.
A small character is brought to life at the bottom of the porcelain, full of mischief and wondrous about the drawings, dancing through the colours and the immaculate surfaces.
