Technique:

Iron armature, with weaves of raffia fibres and Lokta paper

The follicles are mainly made from Lokta paper which Véronique Agostini acquires in Nepal.

This acid-free, PH neutral paper is handcrafted locally.

Its plant fibres make it tear-resistant and its texture is similar to unwoven vegetal papers found in Oceania.

All of the paper used in this work of art is pasted with acrylic binder preventing it from fading over time, and making it rigid and robust.

Once dried, this work of art can simply be cleaned with a damp sponge, without causing any damage.
