"The most evocative and effective media for telling my ‘tales of faraway places' have proved to be photography and writing.
The photographic tales, pictures and words are the results of an alchemy of encounters and emotions. My sensitivity and emotions have fed upon moments of harmony with the people I have met and for whom and with whom I aim to bear witness in all sincerity and complicity.

A trip is based on a working goal and is linked to a base, a thematic structure. Gradually, my motivations have drawn me towards a central consideration: relationships and relations of men in everyday life and their environment, a micro-society built in a hostile environment or in parallel to reference societies. Guided by a vision based on proximity and well away from any artificial settings, my approach is to make these instants my own, to understand the ideas then the actions and finally to echo them.

The "Anges du Huang Pu Jiang" photos were taken in Shanghai, on the Huang Pu Jiang river and the legendary Suzhou-He river with a Chinese family.
The artist's work was carried out like a photographic report on the river people, their lives and their everyday work aboard their barges. For two months, his vision was developed by his life with this family aboard a wide, sheet metal barge.
The poster is page of contemporary Chinese history and the photographer has chosen to associate his photographic work on this page.
There is no political direction to this work, it is merely the vision of a Westerner today.
The symbolism has not changed... times change but 95% of the population remains attached to the icons of the past...
