Denis Blondel started painting at the beginning of the 90s, having hung up his guitar and keyboard…
He initially turned towards a style inspired by comic strips, before finally reaching a totally different style that belongs to modern figuration, more spontaneous more "impulsive”, more instinctive, in which he seeks light and a certain aestheticism...
His mixed technique work is based on collage: sand, paper, newspaper, spices, pigments, etc. Then comes the application of different mediums: acrylic, pastel, ink, walnut stain. He works "on the floor".
Denis Blondel is currently working on several themes: bodies, still life or shoes... (previous productions include a series of tree trunks and lounge chairs). The subject matters little, the style is what counts. Besides his canvases, he also produces smaller formats. Some are presented in CD cases.
He is currently working on a series of portraits entitled "CAC40....ou les délaissés”. His goal is to provide a testimony, a vision of two sides of a single society.
