Having trained in mural art at the Beaux-Arts institute and the decorative arts school in Aubusson, Jean-Michel Lartigaud started to work with a number of tapestry manufacturers who produce his designs.
At the same time, he continued to paint, gradually broadening his field exposure, gaining status as a professional painter in 1973 (Maison des Artistes - Paris).
He has since continued his research, varying mediums and materials. A notable encounter with Henri de Vazelhes enabled him to make art prints using the screen printing technique.
His work is now found in a number of countries, in both private and public collections.
