Martine Serrano

Martine Serrano was born in North Africa to a Spanish father and French mother from the Lorraine region. Her childhood in Africa was lulled with mythology, fairy tales and legends. After studying science, then building a sailboat with her partner, she set out for Brazil. Back in France, sculpture became an obvious means of expression, combining the sensual and the spiritual, inviting others into her inner world. In the words of Montaigne, "when I talk of myself, I am talking of you".
She creates sculptures and masks by assembling and modelling elements collected on the seashore.
