Jean-Pierre Blanpain is a painter in the same way as others might be builders, drivers or farmers. He is a worker. He also engraves, sculpts and sews. On the side, he cooks, makes jam and looks after his garden. In his spare time, as if to flee boredom, he takes to the plume, writing texts and poems full of nonsense. Almost in spite of himself, he has become an author and illustrator for the young and the young-at-heart. His canvases, engravings and sculptures can be found all over the world. His books are on the shelves of bookshops in France as well as Italy and Spain. His most recent personal exhibitions: 2007 : Crid'art gallery in Metz - 7th international modern art show in Marseille - Regional school of applied art in Troyes. 2006 : Espace Jean de Joigny in Joigny - Lisette Alibert gallery in Paris - Design Consortium Gallery in Cincinnati - Prieuré in Manthes? 2005 : Art-Expression Gallery in Chicago - Art Miami in Miami - Art Metz in Metz - Prise de Tête gallery in Romans sur Isère. 2004 : Imagine gallery in Bordeaux - Fond d'art moderne et contemporain in Montluçon - Lisette Alibert gallery in Paris - Art Miami in Miami - Galleria di Pittura in Torino. 2003 : Maximilian gallery in Aspen - Lisette Alibert gallery in Paris - Art Miami in Miami. 2002 : Lisette Alibert gallery in Paris - Les Primitifs Contemporains in Montluçon. 2001 : La Spirale in Lyon-Décines - Rue des Arts Espace Contemporain in Nancy - Pierre Harlem gallery in New York City
