Catherine MAMET has been working for around fifteen years with all kinds of materials from the softest to the hardest, the most ephemeral to the most lasting: snow, ice, sand, clay, cement, wood, stone, bronze.
One of her favourite themes is women, mothers as well as women that dance, sing and just live.
Another of her more recent themes is meditation: postures of meditation and work on its graphic symbols that she engraves on polished pebbles.
Her shapes are rounded and full. Catherine MAMET likes to work by direct carving, opposing rough, rugged shapes and surfaces with others that are soft and polished. She regularly exhibits in France and abroad and can produce monumental sculptures to order.
