For many years, Rudolf STALL concentrated on volcanic rock, forming compact, refined sculptures.
Taken with other preoccupations resulting in the triumph of glass, from the opaqueness of rock, he moved to the transparency and translucency of glass. From grain to smooth, from warm porosity to cold. The colour does not come from the flames but the meltdown at high temperatures welds the pieces of glass together...
We are in another world, where assembly reigns and light is essential, with its flashing brilliance, proposing a sort of decorative stained glass sculpture.
The works of Franz Rudolf STALL are beyond technique, revealing exceptional sensitivity, power and depth.
