After having polished off his skills at the Compagnons du Devoir du Tour de France, the cabinet maker opened his own workshop. His niche? Contemporary furniture in all its splendour. Working side by side with the workshop foreman Ronan, who has a similar career path, they make magnificent furniture together. "The idea is to create intrigue around our work. We start with the basics of our trade and then make things that can't be seen elsewhere." In the showroom the furniture is amazing, unbelievable even. A chest of drawers carved in undeniably contemporary fashion, a desk with refined outlines, an armchair with a curved back - remarkable... Each piece represents hours in the workshop. As for the materials used, they are all luxurious, marvellous: ebony, East Indian satinwood, shagreen "tanned skins of sharks, rays, cods"... The team works with more than a hundred types of precious wood, with their natural, fabulous tints. A palette that's impressive just like the mastering of their art and Jean-Luc Le Mounier's inspiration.
In their list of contacts is ‘the illustrious designer' Maria Pergay, who has contributed to some of the projects. A fine venture! |
