At university, Amélie DE MONTARD studied art history, archaeology and ethnology.
A number of ceramics courses introduced her to clay, and in particular, to the raku technique that opened the door to working with this incandescent material.
Since 2002, she has devoted her time to creating glass beads, fascinated by fire and nimble finger work.
Her research is based on shape, colour and mostly material. She enjoys representing nature in an allusive, abstract manner. Each bead is unique.
She makes beads for her own pleasure and also incorporates them into sculptures, hanging creations and jewellery.
