Daniel Masquelier comes from Saint James in northern France. He has already had several livings, from boilermaker/pipefitter in Cherbourg to specialized technical instructor in an educational medical centre.
There, he taught basic metalwork to mentally challenged adolescents and young adults. He then turned his attention to sculpture, teaching himself and researching... to become the artist that he is today.
He works with workshop scrap material. Scraps gathered in trays, metal gleaned from scrap dealers, given to him by friends concerned for his supplies and even donated by companies who are particularly appreciative of his work.
