Craft-jeweller, Jean-Philippe Barrière is looking for somewhere to exhibit his creations and to build a close rapport with the public.
With qualifications in metal sculpture from the "École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d'Arts" - in the 15th district of Paris and with an enriching 8-year experience alongside the greatest jewellers in the Place Vendôme, he combines the techniques he learned from these two experiences in his new line of work as a creator of jewellery.
On the one hand, there's drawing, sketching, researching themes, developing ideas, hammering, forging, surface treatment (sanding, engraving, scratching) and on the other hand there are several techniques: lost wax casting, embossing, welding, preparations for crimping, drawing out, laminating and polishing etc.
His preferred materials are gold, silver, fine wood, cut or uncut stones, beads and any other materials which influence and inspire him such as wood seeds and horns. His fields of investigation are vast: Anything can lead to imagining and creating an object: nature, poetry, science, human nature, a place, a cathedral or a piece of wood.
His collection, composed mainly of unique pieces should be delightfully savoured before giving in to the simple temptation of something that you can't resist...
