Marina Yaguello, academic and renowned linguist, author of numerous publications about language and languages, drastically changed her life in 2000 when she opened a workshop showroom in Paris in the Marais, where she lives for her passion as a parure collector and a as a creator. She creates necklaces, rings and earrings by assembling authentic, ethnic beads and pendants originating either from Africa, the Pacific, Indonesia or India or from archaeological sites from the Near and Middle East, Asia, the Mediterranean or pre-Columbian America - pieces that she has been collecting for years and which she picks up during her many travels as well as from public sales or antique dealers..
Each parure is unique, designed whilst respecting the authentic materials and their original context.
Using documents that are available in museums and in places where there are large collections, Marina Yaguello attempts to highlight the beads and the other elements in the parure whilst adapting her creations so that they are in line with the tastes, lifestyle and attire of today's woman. |
